I had this little doe standing for a perfect shot two days ago and I simply enjoyed watching her figure stuff out then trot off. Today I snuck up on what I’m sure was the same little deer in her bed and darned if I did the same thing. Since I’m mainly looking for a summer sausage/ pepperoni stick animal I’m looking for a nature doe or a young buck but this little curry keeps me smiling and get tempting fate!😄

I've already taken my meat deer,, and I'm seeing deer I prefer to let pass. But I only have one tag left,, & there's the buck see,, he's kinda what I'm hoping for. He's being kinda evasive right now. But I have this one smaller, yearling doe,, that I see often. She has a cleft cut in her ear. Easy to tell her apart from the others. Fun watching her.

I remember several years ago, deer hunting for a week in sleeting conditions, it was really miserable… I had a doe permit, so anything was fair game… I was using my 14” 45-70 Contender, and it was the 4th or 5th day, of miserable hunting, nothing was moving, I was freezing and wet, I tried driving, and still sitting, finally a little movement in the woods… I was in a tree stand, about 10-12 feet up, and a little 40-50 pound yearling fawn walked right under me, I darn near could have whacked him on the head, he was so close… no spots, but extremely tiny… it was hard letting him walk, being he was the only deer I had seen all week… turned out the weather stayed the same the next 2 days, and the little guy was the only deer I saw that week… bad week of hunting, but I don’t feel bad about not shooting a 50 lb. Deer from 10 ft, with a 45-70
