Sirs, Plasitc guns and holsters are good tools, however single actions and leather is best for the soul. I have two 38-40 colts, and two 45 USFirearms. Leather is supplied by El Paso and Mr Mernickle. Both sets of SAs are stock. I feel they need action work and new stocks. What do you guys and gals think about Mr Munden for the action and Eagle Buffalo horn for one set of stocks, and stag for the other. As my bonafides, I present the facts that I have had the pleasure of reading all of Mr Taffin's books and I have had the additional pleasure of a couple of telephone conversations with him. Please feel free to express opinions on stocks, action work, and reading material. thanks you for your time and consideration Kidd

Hello and welcome, good to have you. For reading there is of course Keiths' books and one of my favs, The Custom Revolver by Hamilton Bowen. +1 on the recommended reading! www.gunblast.com/Bowen-CustomRevolver.htmKidd, welcome to the Board. Bob Munden has a fine reputation for action work, and I would also recommend Alan Harton, Dave Clements or Ben Forkin. Stag is hard to beat for SAs, IMO, but on a nickel or stainless gun I do like a darker material that contrasts. I prefer black buffler horn on my stainless or nickel guns, and have had very good results using Eagle Grips: www.gunblast.com/Eagle.htm
