Curious if you have what’s left of a 215 gn XTP after a solid shoulder shot to anchor a hog. I’ve had on and off problems with those and 250’s in .45 exploding on impact. Slip it behind the ribs, it will probably go straight thru

When loaded for the wife at 1000-1100fps it’s a great bullet for medium game. I used a 210 XTP on my first pig with a 41, and got excellent performance with an exit at about 70-75 yards, it went thru ribs and a shoulder. Only reason I no longer use them is I got 4 or 5 boxes of Speer 210’s from Rey, but wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. My experience with XTPs in 9mm,45acp,357,10mm,41,44,and 45 has all been satisfactory, except the 250gr. for 45LC. Trapr

Slip it behind the ribs, it will probably go straight thru Hey Mike. I’ve only killed 4 hogs with this combo. 3 were head shots and one was low and behind the shoulder (pass through). So…I haven’t recovered one yet.

That 97 just keeps getting it done. The man behind the trigger has a bit to do with it!

So…I haven’t recovered one yet. You have the head shots down as they are a perfect instant stoppers. No tracking needed! I usually hunt with premium jacketed bullets, except on hogs, I’ve used lots of lead cast, and primarily head shots. I have a few hundred 41 XTP’s I’m going to run some thru my bullet traps ( in spring) to see how they hold up. I usually practice with XTP’s then hunt with Swifts.
