Hey I recognize that 3rd edition book! That was one of the first in the Kondo clean effort.

Had them since the first edition... Excellent for those with a S&W collection...

Finite number of minutes and dollars led me to realize that I need to focus on a very limited range of firearms. In my case, I was deep into the idea of custom revolvers of the Ruger world so that is why a number of custom smiths and all my TLA guns live with many other members now.

I'm interested in buying one of these books for myself, and am curious about the differences in various editions. Does the current edition have all the information from the older books, or are there unique articles and features in each edition? I'm mostly interested in S&Ws up through the 90s or so - should I focus on an older version or just get the newest one?
Thank you for your input!

Check out the copyright date of the 4th edition and the intervals between the editions. 1996 (237 pages)... 200l (318 pages)... 2006 (432 pages)... 2016 (526 pages)... I'd speculate that a 5th edition might pop out soon. When I saw the 3rd I knew I needed the rest. Go here and note that there is a constant revision and data collection process in place. smith-wessonforum.com/standard-catalogue-s-w-4th-ed/
