Just back from Andy Horvath for the Stroh front sight, Bowen rear sight, Power Custom Bisley hammer and trigger install. Andy made the gun a L'il Gun 45 way back and I'm the second owner. When I got it I'd heard about a fella named Cary Chapman that had a website with a bunch of pics of gorgeous wood and horn so those were purchased, then it sat. I was going through a parts box and found the hammer/trigger that was to be part of a build along with the sights. The Bowen was on hand just because. The Stroh front came about in a conversation with Alex Hamilton one day when I was buying some factory ivories for a 1903. He really didn't want to let it go as it was his last and was hoping someone would call him for a full on build but stated "I'm not getting any younger" so he let me have it. So it is also with me. This is a neat gun not just because of the sum of the parts, but what I'm going to do with it. Over the years I have purchased guns, parts, ammo, components, tools, targets, etcetera but the one thing that has never come in the front door is knowledge. This three inch barreled gun is going to teach me things about velocity, POA, POI, squeeze, recoil, recoil management, front sight focus and hopefully other things. I'm getting like Robb, and I'm overwhelmed with my gun stuff. I've sold some stuff off lately and will continue to do so. This gun is coooooool.

As soon as I saw pictures of that gun I knew it was one of those guns where the sum of the different parts would never reach the value of the package! To me it is a perfect picture of the artistry and skill that exists or has existed in the custom revolver world. Contributions by Jim Stroh, Ron Powers, Hamilton, Cary all laid on the heart of the custom revolver canvas by Ruger and a piece of art is the result. Maybe that is why my little “L’il Gun” with many of the same features is the one I carry most often when I hit the saddle.
Well done my friend!

I do love a shortie. My 3.5” or 3.75” can’t recall exact right now, is a favorite of mine. After seeing the Tyler lightweights I am thinking an aluminum Bisley might find its way here. But as it stands now I like the carryability, of the package. I was quite surprised by the velocity attained from it as well, 1230fps with a 260/265gr. Your lil gun is definitely a keeper.

That’s a sweet one. Love the front sight and little touches.
