Congratulations on a FINE deer. Eating deer are my main focus,, so I appreciate your choice. Handgun hunting is not addictive. Heck, I started it back in the early 1980's & I'm not addicted!

With the mindset that the 357 in a revolver is akin to bowhunting as to angles and distance, more than adequate. Good shooting !

I’ve shot some antelope with sixguns mostly the fabulous 45 colt. Tried the 357 with the Thompson bullet hollow point. Loaded them to 1400 fps in an 8 3/8 model 27. Killed them and exited. Shot one in the skull as a finisher, made a crunchy mess.

I still say the 357 is under rated at hand gun distance for deer size game. With correct hits & correct bullets it's terrific. Nice shooting on that fine doe. Back straps & biscuits are hard to beat!
