Hi guys, got a new set of grips to share. I have been experimenting with some less dramatic, plainer woods , this is Lati, a lighter color in the yellow family, has large grain running through, not a popular choice, but looks pretty good, and works nicely, thanks for looking

Interesting, I assume they are hardwood? Are they dense like walnut or some known woods that go on handguns? Nice job on the grips.

NOT BAD, MAYBE THE GRAIN WOULD LOOK BETTER IF IT WERE NEITHER HORIZONTAL NOR VERTICAL BUT RATHER CUT THE BLANKS SO YOU END UP WITH SLANTED GRAIN?

It is a fairly dense wood, and works like walnut, but lacking the oils of walnut, so it doesn't burnish easily, I like the idea of an angular pattern, I could definitely do that. Oh, and thanks again Tim, for helping me out with the pictures.

I think they compliment that brass frame well.

I think they compliment that brass frame well. Thank you, that's what I was hoping for, not sure how they would look on a straight blued gun, stainless might work though

They have the color of aged ivory. Reminds me of the John Wayne grips color wise.

I read somewhere that the John Wayne grips in that color were dall sheep horn. I always loved those grips!

Nice, looks like we found a good,(cheaper) version for aged ivory, horn, bone, I'm starting to appreciate this wood even more now, have enough left for maybe 3 more sets of grips too.

I thought you were going to say they were plain Maple. I want to show you a set of grips I made out of Curly Maple. I had a Colt medallion and installed it.
The pistol they are on is my stainless Colt Gold Cup Combat Commander that they only made 1000 in stainless and 1000 in blue.
You done a nice job on your grips. Would have been interesting if the grain was slanted.
