I have a few S&W handguns. There are only (2) I seek quietly. One is a M-17. A buddy of mine has had one for decades, and we'd squirrel hunt with handguns together all the time. I have a standing order that if that gun leaves his possession, it moves in with me. I haven't found a nice one in the price range I felt was right,, yet,,,!

I have one of the Model 17-6 guns, I had to have it to complete my set as I have the same guns in 38 Special, a Model 14-5 & what is maybe my favorite S&W, at least lately,
my Model 16-4 in 32 Magnum.
All great guns, I shoot the 16-4 frequently, the 14-5 quite a bit, but the 17-6 not so much.
