Good job Brock. I have to admit it makes it kind of tough knowing I turned in my tag for the elk hunt just west of Hells Canyon this next Wednesday seeing bulls down like that.

We've had really warm weather until Saturday & then it slammed us! It's been the secondary rut & the bulls have been going crazy it looks like because every time we've seen them they have been fighting like crazy. There were lots of elk moving around yesterday, Brock couldn't get on the biggest bull, he was just too far away & it was snowing sideways he said. The one he shot was a bit closer, his buddy Andrew ranged it at 750 yds & he hit it both times with the 280 Ackley his dad had built. The boys still have one tag left but I think they are done, have to go back to school.

Looks like several good hunts there. I've hoped for a long time the elk on the fort would drift this way, but closest I've seen one to here is about 30 miles NE on the river. Good to see some down out your way.

Forgot to add this buck taken by another one of my grandson's, this is Caleb with a dandy buck he shot the first or second day of the season at long range!, Very nice buck! He's a young man but he's taken several nice bucks.  Dick |
