Our deer season opens tomorrow & I fired 10 rounds of 45 Colt loads with one of my bisleys yesterday but because of my thumb surgery a month ago it's a no go with the 45, my thumb swelled up & I don't want anything to go wrong after this long so I decided to go with my 10.5" Ruger 357 Maximum & the dandy 194 gr Bradshaw/Martin bullet crimped over the top band. This bullet has shot great for me but I haven't shot it for quite a while because I've been fixated on the heavy HP's in this caliber. It's time to see if I can center punch a muley buck with it. I ran out to the range today & as expected almost all of the spots were taken so I found a safe corner & set up my portable target stand at 75 yds & ran 3 rounds of the Bradshaw/Martin down range with 18.5 grs of 4227. Off of my Bog Pod rest & without my little shooting bag that I normally use on the back, the 3 shots went into 1 1/4" at 75 yds right above my center diamond. Time to go hunting. The target stand is just above the first spool on the left sitting back in the shade in the corner. Dick

Uh-oh,, there's a mulie out there with a limited number of days left.
We just had my "Gathering" here,, and there were (3) Maxi's in attendance. That bullet & load was used by them, and works quite well.

Dick - I'm eager to see how that bullet does on game. I'm not aware of it being used on an animal yet (at least nothing that's been reported). And that's some damn fine shooting. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

Dick don't you know the white targets are no shoots?
I have never mastered weak hand shooting, I think I might be able to stay in a fight if it came to it but I sure hope to have a bunch of spare mags. Doesnt look like it will be an issue for Dick this year.
I remember David Bradshaw testing heavy 45 colts lefthanded a few years back because of something, but no ill effects on his results, I would know to not even begin to trust the results...
Good luck, and Sixshot, lets hope a big old bruiser walks out in front of you this season...

Nice shooting! And there's that cool Jeep again.
I was down to TWO moulds for my 357 Mag/Mag uses and then it recently grew to three. It took a longtime and a lot of messing to get down to two, but I keep seeing this bullet and keep thinking I NEED it.
Once I sell off the remaining surplus arms/accessories, this mould is at the top of my list.

Well I didn't score this morning but one of my grandson's did & one of my son's got a nice Coyote. I should have got the other one but it was out of range & I had left my call back at the truck. I can usually call them in with my mouth but they have to be closer, this one was too far away. The one Travis got he called in with his mouth, we just imitate a fawn in distress, works great. Here is my grandson's 4X4 & Travis' Coyote, and I threw in a photo of Caleb's 5lb Rainbow for good measure, he caught it Friday with his fly rod. Dick

Tyrone, Shane built both rifles, Calebs is a 6.5/06 Improved I think & my other son Travis, with the Coyote uses a 280 Ackley.
