I use permithrin spray on my clothes. Woks great. YES IT DOES. ALSO A GOOD IDEA TO SPRAY THE AREA YOU ARE GOING TO SIT ON. I ALWAYS HAVE PERMITHIN WITH ME IN A SPRAY BOTTLE.

Is it long lasting? Guess I'll try it. Them ticks are about the only thing keeping me from getting out more. I know of a few hunters who have given up hunting due to the possibility of Lyme disease. Thanks for the reply..

Yes it is long lasting. It will last very long if you don’t wash your hunting clothes. I spray my stuff at the beginning of the season and it seems to last through the season. I usually sit on the ground on a cushion, and I spray that too. I carry a small bottle of piccardin cream for any exposed skin. It keeps the skeeters out of your ears. Neither of these products have any smell.

If you’ve got a Wal Mart they sell it in a spray bottle back in sporting goods, lasts a long time too.

DR. ADAMS DOG SPRAY IS LOW DOSE PERMITHERIN, MAKES A GOOD PERMETHERIN SPRAY CONTAINER (ITS WHAT I USE). MOST FARM & RANCH/FEED & SEED STORES CARRY PERMITHERIN. ITS A CONCENTRATE AND YOU WATER IT DOWN IN A SPRAY CONTAINER.

I use the permethrin on clothes. Spray them well and let dry before use. I putting them in an unscented garbage bag after use, and add a squirt more of permethrin to the bag and seal the top. Take out the next hunting trip and use again. We also use Hartz ultra guard flea and tick dog shampoo, citrus scented to shower and wash or hair with when we get home. The ticks have been really bad around here for several years.

Spray and let dry before use. Had problems in the Military from soldiers spraying it on themselves and clothing they were wearing.
Yes, long duration or effect. Needs to be re-applied after washing. Not for direct application to skin.

For spring turkey hunting, I buy the livestock stuff and dilute it the right amount (not the animal ratio) and absolutely drown my hunting pants, shirts, socks, hat, face masks, jacket. It is miles cheaper than the Sawyers stuff.
HOWEVER... I do buy one bottle of Sawyers every year to use on my backpack and my boots. Because I wear them in the fall and winter deer hunting, and the livestock stuff smells very strong and the smell lasts.
Some people say if you hunt the wind right, smell doesn't matter. Some people like me don't always have that option, lots of times my choice is the wind wrong or don't hunt.
