1959 unconverted flattop .357. My first Old Model. Very tight, used very little, and finish is still excellent. Very happy with this find. There’s quite a few of these sitting up in closets or in truck glove boxes in this neck of the woods. Very pleased to get my hands on one.

Both in its condition and in its original elegant simplicity; raw, basic functionality with no useless, distracting "decoration." Slim, fit, strong and capable.
I have no "need" for something like that now, but would have a hard time passing on it all the same. I've had numerous OMs, but never an original Flat Top. As heretical as it may sound, and while I got used to it, I always thought the "ears" protecting the rear sight on Ruger SAs took away some of the original good looks.
In 2009, I finally settled on A Flat Top 44 Special as my "ONE" single action revolver and appreciate it over all the previous OMs and NMs I've owned, but this "Classic Vermont Find" would have wooed me. None of my OM 357s ever looked that good, either in their form or their condition. The last one I bought, something like 15 years ago cost me an astounding $275, and I decided that at such excessive prices, I'd bought my last. Look at them now.

I would pick up any flat-top at any time in any condition if the price was right, and that price was RIGHT!! I have a new model 44 special flat-top and it only gets taken out on sunny afternoons with the kids. I think my son is waiting on me to die so he can get it. LOL.
