Did Winchester recently make another run of these rifles? Was just over on GunBroker and there were a bunch of brand new ones....
If they have I hope that Hornady starts making ammo and reloading components again as ammo and empty brass are VERY hard to find and expensive when one does...

I know Gary Reeder has gotten large batches of .405 brass in a few times in the last couple of months

Do you know who made the brass.... A lot of his GNR custom rifle cartridges are .405 based...

...would be nice if Hornady were making .405 brass again that they release a run to the general reloading public especially if there is a new run of rifles out there...

I know Gary got the Brass from Steve Hornady, as they did not have 405 on the loading list for quite some time. I picked up a few hundred as I have a couple guns that use it.

When I bought an 1895 from a friend about 15 years ago, he gave me a case of ammo. After Hornady stopped making it, and knowing I wasn't going to shoot it, I put it out on GunBroker...they all sold for $85-100 a box back two years ago...basically got the rifle for free... Sold off most of the jacketed bullets also...

i sure could use some brass and some of those 300gr softpoints to load, as much as it goes for i can't belive hornady is not making it. In the grand scheme of thing how many .405 cases would they really make? In manufacturing basically everything is priced on what materials cost plus manufacturing cost and margin of course. They don't look at the market and say hey I can make a run of XXX case for a huge profit margin. They compute what the teardown and set up costs would be to change calibers vs what they stack of backordered brass they have in line now and work through stuff. I am sure for every .405 case they could sell they could sell 1K 223 cases at a similar profit margin per hour from the equipment and make way more consumers happy than a relatively obscure levergun cartridge would. Besides if they were to spool up another run the prices being asked for brass would plummet to whatever they decide they have to sell the brass for to make their lick. That said I still want a 1895 .405 to go with my 30/06, they are slick rifles in my book...

There are now 32 brand new Winchester 95s on GunBroker....must have made a new run as many have deluxe wood.
Ammo wise, almost nothing. A couple of Sellers want over $10.00 A ROUND....nutz...
