Came out 1/2 way while I was firing Buffalo Bore Standard pressure heavy loads (255 gr at 1,000 fps, 200 gr at 1100 fps). My gun jammed and I discovered the base pin had come lose.
Can anyone recommend an easy fix (besides stop shooting that ammo)? Bell Mtn pin with set screw?
Thanks!

I would think a heavier cross pin spring would take care of it. Have you checked your cross pin to see that it has not loosened. If your going to shoot alot of that kind of ammo you might want to get some blue Loc-Tite. I know thats not exactly a hot round but taken the weight of the gun things can get shook up pretty good.

I have a USFA 45 Colt that the base pin was very difficult to remove. Called Kellye at Belt Mountain and he said to measure diameter and order one of their #5 pins. Did so and no problems. Belt Mountain makes a fine product and have replaced the base pins on several Rugers with theirs.
