I love Herrett's Detectives too. Size Medium/Large hand and the Jordan grips with the closed backstrap ruin my DA trigger reach. Also have a set of Blu Magnums, and had another set on order when Tedd unexpectedly passed, love the Blu Mags.
Has anyone tried the Nill grips?

Nill grips, never on an N frame, but on my Super Redhawk. They fit the frane and my hand great. Only thing is they were very matte finished.

I saw the mention of Nill grips. My buddy had a set on his 29 Mountain Gun he sold a few years ago. These grips/stocks were meant to replicate "Coke Bottle" style S&W Target grips. He ordered the ones for a round butt to square butt conversion. What I recall is that they were of amazing quality, with very fine checkering. The grip screw and diamond were a bit higher than on S&W Targets. The inletting was pefect. He bought them something over 20 years ago. They were around $200 then if I recall right, and I thought that was pretty stout at the time. Definitely custom pricing, but we couldn't fault the quality. They felt about like real Cokes with a restrained palm swell. They also felt like a slimmer version of Keith Brown Ropers. I have no idea if they even still make these. My apologies for the photo quality. I took this at his range with an older phone. Best wishes, Marc

I’ve got a set of Walnut burl and a set of English walnut that are both about 95 percent finished. I don’t have pics handy but if you’d want to see them I posted them on Facebook last year and can tag you in the posts. I was unaware you did DA grips, sir. I’ve got a model 29 that will be needing a set…

Very expensive German plywood, but I do love how they feel. A big hand filling grip. I have two like this and would buy more... preferably used like my second set. lol

Have a set of Nill Retro-Cokes on a 1964 8 3/8" Model 57 that look like the ones above. Very nicely made grips and last I looked a few years ago were $400...
Only problem I have found shooting DA with S&W/Roper Target style stocks is that the grips slides up in ones hand each shot because the taper of the grip is up. With the Detective/Trooper style it is slightly smaller at the bottom so ones pinky and ring fingers get more purchase on the grip.
