That would be the Model 69. Looking at the HKS web site, I would think the one for the model 669 44 Special would be the one. That is also a 5 shot L frame only in 44 special Right ? ...tj

HKS CA44s They work for the 69. Don't know any that are dedicated to the 69, but haven't done a deep search for any other brand for a while.

Is "OK" good enough when your really need a reload and you are amped up with adrenalin? Maybe they redesigned the HKS CA44. The one I have (maybe 20 yrs old) is not positive and effortless. I've dumped cartridges on the ground and I wasn't even under stress.
FWIW,
Paul

When Paul105 talks, I listen. So went in the other room, unloaded the Bulldog, pulled out the M69 and unloaded it. Grabbed the 2 CA44's within reach. Both full of 44spec loads. One 205gr RNFPs, the other Corbon 200gr DPX. Went back and forth with both speedloaders, alternated guns. Not happy with my fumbly hands, am happy with my speedloaders. YMMV. I have 2 of the 5Star's for the wife's SP101 32mag. Understand they may be of better quality.

I'd rather go the moon clip route than mess with speed loaders, but opinions here vary

I'm a fan of Safariland speed loaders and have been since my competition days. Very positive and high quality. Just push in to release. Several tenths of a second faster than the others. If you drop the loader after release, it's actually faster than moon clips due to the easier gripping design.

I agree with Paul, the HKSes work but I'm going to give the Star Loaders a try and will look at the Speed Beez. Would love the Safarilands but they don't make them for the 5 shot 44s. Moonclips are fragile and bend. Ask me how I know having owned a 625, and a 640Pro. No more moonclips but a Safariland for the 640.

Ha ! I agree with Paul too, I'm just not gonna buy any more speedloaders for the 44's. Mine work, and more often than not, speed strips are in my pocket. I live and play rural. I've had the training, just see little risk of needing. My lifestyle, and location. On my way to a kicked in door, is much better options.
