S&W 350

I see there's a new offering in the Smith & Wesson catalog: a seven shot "Model 350" in .350 Legend. It's not really my thing, but to each his own. They haven't done anything new with the X-Frame for a while.

I definitely want one. Great for deer hunting in straight wall cartridge only areas. And 1/3 of the cost of my 44mag ammo.

I'm surprised. I didn't immediately love it. It seems off for my style of shooting.

It's 72 oz, I assume unloaded. I'm a wimp when it comes to lugging steel.
It's double action only. I like having the SA option.

SAAMI spec for the .350 Legend is 55,000 psi. I imagine the double action only classification is an error in S&W's description.

I assume that's a typo.  If you download the spec sheet .pdf, it calls the action "Double Action Revolver".  And the hammer certainly doesn't look like a DAO to me.

None of the other X Frames are double action only. It’s got to be a misprint. Companies are dumb, but that change would take changes to lock work . So companies are also cheap, they aren’t changing something not “broken”.

I would like to give it a try, The 500 and 460 SnWs are just to damn much for me, I better read up on the ballistics' of the round.

I've never had a revolver with moon clips. Just always viewed them as one more thing to get bent, lost, or cause trouble. Maybe that isn't a fair assessment. Why do you think they went with the moon clips?

I will probably get one so my 460 has a companion. Shouldn't be much recoil and might make a nice plinker. Pluse its something new and a excuse to buy a gun.

Doubtless because it's a rimless cartridge; the case head is the same size as .223.
