If you look closely at my feet you might see I’m wearing house shoes, we were sitting on the front porch and I’d taken my boots off when a group of about 12 pigs came in to eat on the cattle feed. They were down the road a piece maybe 300-400 yards, but it was a straight shot down the road, no brush or cactus. So I took off in my house shoes, covered the distance and got to about 70 yards. They were busy scarfing up free food and didn’t pay any notice to me. I got into a sitting position and rested my elbows on my knees, placed the red dot straight up the front leg for a high shoulder shot and let a 210gr. Speer fly. She dropped, kicked a bit and stayed put, the optic on the gun is a new Burris optic that is great for leverguns or handguns, 3” long, 1x and a 2moa dot, because it’s a tube sight it’s much easier to locate the dot for those that struggle with that. It’s called a RT1, if you’re looking for a small red dot for a handgun this is a nice one, it is bigger than the mini reflex sights but it’s a nice optic. The pig is the first game taken with it, and it’ll get more use this coming season.

Nice shot...
Is that 657 one of the 6.5 or 7.5" guns... I have a first issue Hunter with a 6.5" that is very accurate...

BOB: IT IS 7.5" AND IT GOT AN ACTION PACKAGE BY ALEX HAMILTON/TEN RING PRECISION, BEFORE TRAPR ACQUIRED IT FROM ME. BTW THAT RT1 SIGHT IS SWEET, SMALL, GREAT CONTROLS, I AM GOING TO GET 1 OR SOME.

Yup, house shoes will certainly work in a pinch. Just saw where an African PH was doing a follow up stalk on a wounded Caped buffalo & he was wearing Croc's, smart PH!

Giblett, I personally would not try and mount it using a one screw mount type, like the Weigand. If you drilled and tapped another hole I think their mount would be good though. The sight is really nice, I’m looking at getting a couple more for some leverguns, because the two I have will be used on revolvers. The adjustments are very positive and the clicks were audible to me and I wasn’t wearing my hearing aids.
