I heard of these before. Made for a State highway patrol by mistake. Really rare. Contender would know more probably.

Back when I had Clements convert one to 10mm I used one of these in .38 Spcl for the conversion. A friend had one done at the same time. I think we got them from CDNN who was blowing them out at a ridiculous price since no one wanted them

I miss the old days of CDNN and the crazy low prices, especially since my buddy had a FFL at that time.

I picked up a blued one a few months ago for a .41 Special conversion. Perfect size for it, especially with the 3" GP100 barrel I intend to have rebored and installed.

I have two of them, both are half lug/fixed sight like what is shown and one letters from Ruger as a KGPF-840 in .38 Special +P. That letter is from a good number of years ago when they just gave minimal info. I probably need to reletter it and see if I can find where it was originally going to be shipped to. I haven't lettered the other one yet. Good possibility they were overruns from a police or security company contract. I also have GP's in 3" stainless/fixed sight .38 Spl. and 3" blued/fixed sight .38 Spl.

I'm surprised it's still there.

I have a blue version, 4-inch, in 38 special, with fixed sights. I don’t think they are terribly scarce. I am a big fan of the GP100, but the cylinder is exactly the same size as the 357 version, so it’s puzzling.

What smith is going to do the 41 special conversion? That is the question - I had thought about asking Al Siegrist about reboring the 3" barrel. then finding someone I could send everything off to for line boring and rechambering the cylinder and putting everything together. I don't need anything fancy this first time out.
