If I was a betting man I would say it is from a Colt Bisley Target gun shipped to London before the turn of the century. I think Colt had to have a address in England to sell them there even then....

Fowler, you may be right, not sure a Bisley will fit, but honestly never tried. Colt SAA fits real nice.... Most Colt London boxes are marked with Pall Mall St address, rare to find with Piccadilly Circus. Colts London Agency moved in in 1892 from Pall Mall St to Piccadilly. Couple more photos showing screws holding bottom on and the inlets for latches....There are some close copies out there so look closely at these details before breakin out the cash. The cartridge holder and the little triangle door are later replacements on this one, otherwise original. JWH    |
