Thanks for posting the rear sight photos. I like your approach. Nobody makes one, so jump in and do it yourself. Excellent work!

Well, I think so. YOU think so. I'm not sure we quite have the "pull" with Charter to get that done, but we can do it ourselves. Mr. Ecker seems to do what Mr. Ecker will. I respect that and can't fault his logic, as he sells a lot of guns - yet finds time to talk to his customers and take care of them.
There are some really cool Charters popping up, and I hope the 3" barrel STICKS, as it is (in my mind) about the perfect, all-'round, do-all barrel length for a lot of things. I've always found it to be the perfect balance between the 2" pocket-models and the 4" models, which offer a longer sight radius, which I feel isn't worth giving up the "pocketable" feature of the 3".
I won't pretend to know more about what sells than Mr. Ecker, but I think this model should have come with the sighting system of the original 3" Bulldog. I think it's obvious though that Mr. Ecker is responding to what more people than you and I want, whether it makes the most sense (to us) or not. I commend his efforts none the less.
DutchV, no problem. Thank you for suggesting the addition. I appreciate that it might do someone some good. I don't like figuring out something useful and then keeping it from others. Not to get too philosophical, but our attention spans are being wrung out of us. It's not just the young folks - our culture is driving us to react superficially to too many superficial demands at any given moment. The ability to focus or concentrate for more than three minutes is becoming a "lost art," and any exercise which demands our focus and attention, and is loaded with CONSEQUENCES for screwing up is GOOD exercise. I used to make detailed drawings of any furniture or building project I did - DETAILED drawings I could count on if my concentration were interrupted for a moment or a month. A few years ago, I started using concept sketches only, and forcing myself to keep track of the many details in my head. It's a lot more work, but I think it has slowed the decomposition of my ability to "hold a thought." It's not just about "getting old."

Amazing, whittle enough useless metal off a Charter Arms and you can find a decent gun hiding in there. Good Job.
