When putting the King Cobra in the safe, I found a S&W 48-4 22 Magnum I'd forgotten I bought.
A 4" gun that I'd give 99% plus condition.
I'd bought it at an estate a couple years back. A friend was helping sell off guns to help a family friend. It all came back after I found the gun.
Any information will be helpful...

Did a little reading on this model while drinking coffee this morning.
Built from 1977-1981. The "4" indicates that S&W started putting the gas ring on the cylinder instead of the yoke.
Apparently earlier models gummed up due to the seam lining up with the chambers...

I have the same pistol. Haven't done much with it but glad it's here...

It's not a bad little gun. Extraordinary condition for 40+ years old.
Locks up tight and the barrel gap is .0035". Throats are a six a snug .224",
Think the 6" is more highly sought after. But, the little 4" isn't bad...
