Most of you that have been around NM Blackhawks for a long time probably have discussed this issue before. The bottom rear portion of the grip on my Blackhawk 45 colt digs into the meaty part of my hand when shooting. Is there a fix grip wise for this? Suggestions would be appreciated.

You have several choices. You can cheaply fix the problem by changing the grips to a set of Pachmayr rubber grips. You can spend a few bucks and change the grip frame to a Bisley or a Birds head type. Either way will fix the problem, It all depends on your funds at hand and your preference. I like the Bisley or the Birds head grip frame personally over rubber but you do what you gotta do. If all else fails you can reduce the load or the bullet weight to give less recoil. My 2 cents. BB

You can also round butt the grip frame and /or recontour the grips so that the right hand panel (assuming you are right handed ) is slightly more swelled than the left panel. Everyones hand is different and you will need to find out what it is exactly that works for you.

Duct tape! (that smart crack ought to be worth an good smite) You need to get to the gun store and hold some XR3, XR3-Red, Bisley. and SBH grip frames to see what you think you like best.... Then we will get out a shoot some! You may need some custom wood...

The easy fix, IMHO, is a longer grip frame, ala Super Blackhawk, Hunter or Bisley. Here's a .45 Blackhawk fitted with the Hunter grip frame. Carl

Are you shooting with three fingers on the front of the grip frame or are you shooting pinky under? I shoot pinky under and never have any of the problems that people complain about.

I shoot with pinky under grip . This pic is my 357 MAX with the Vaquero SS grip frame . The SBH frame rolls in my hand and hammer hits my web of my hand and the Bisley grip is to large for my hand .

You could round the corners of the gripframe ever so slightly, but I would try shooting 3 fingers on the front strap first, a lot cheaper if it works.
