Shoulder dents with Redding dies are infuriating. Refusing to put a vent hole in their dies is ridiculous. Does the hole EVER hurt anything? For the premium they charge it's not much to ask.
I've had the issue with a number of cartridges and their dies. Today it's forming some 25 Bullberry, a simple process. I use a q tip to put lube only where I want it, never on the shoulder. I cleaned the die thoroughly. One case came out un-dented. Next case went right back to denting. Sure, I MIGHT be able to work out a process of cleaning and lubing that avoids dents, but why should I have to work some alchemy to do what other dies do just fine?
I like Imperial Sizing Wax. If spray lube is necessary for Redding dies then I don't want Redding dies.
Unfortunately 25 Bullberry dies aren't that easy to replace. I'll be body sizing in an RCBS 30-30 die then using the Redding neck sizer for the remainder.
I can't imagine going to Midway or Grafs and voluntarily putting Redding dies in my cart if the set I need is available from any other maker.

I was going to recommend the spray lube, but I see that's not necessary, I know everyone hates them but, I've never had any problems with my Lee dies, so that's all I buy.

I've never had any problems with Lee dies either. Their features might not always be my favorite, but they make good quality ammo. I spent a lot of years doing all my work on a Lee turret.
