We're it not a .44 mag I'd jump on getting one. Just never gotten exited about the mighty .44 errr, .429 magnum.

Go for it! Might be cheaper to find an orphaned anniversary FT 357 I wish they would turn out a 50th SBH without the bling... Can't get enough of those 43s! ;D

I love mine. Except the little bitty plastic grips that came with it. I called Patrick Grashorn and he made a pair of his outstanding elk stag grips for it. He made them just a little thicker to fill my hands. Now she's comfortable with everything but 300gr. loads from Buffalo Bore.

I took my Lipseys 44 special out today and shot 50 rounds through it and I like the feel of the XR3 grip frame but the grips will have to go. They made the pad of my hand sore after about 30 rounds. I also forgot to take a screwdriver to sight it in so I had to aim 6" right and about 5" low to get it on target so I really did not shoot for groups. I did enjoy shooting it though. I did notice it was spitting a bit of lead, I may need to have the forcing cone re-cut. I'd bet the 44 mag would really cause the grips to bite you.

That's what it seems like to me Carl, and BTW, mother's mag and aluminum polish works pretty good too.

Two questions: 1. will CLC grips be more comfortable? 2. Can the bling be removed without leaving an impression in the blueing that is detectable?

1. That is a subjective question, 2. not that I know of, hope that helps.

The grips are on the thin side if you're pushing factory velocity magnums through it. With lighter loads, it's just fine and I have medium size mitts. As to accuracy, here's today's efforts, sitting at 25 yds. Love that Lyman 429215 GC, this one sized to .432" in deference to my oversize bored Marlin 336. Regards Rodfac
