If you're going into the doghouse, might as well make it for something good!

Liked that gun from the first time I saw it. Congrats and glad it has a good home.

A quick trip to the jewelry store might ease the sting.... Naw, that would be a dead give-away that I'm guilty of something real bad - I'll just keep it hid until I take my shellac'in, otherwise, that poor Ruger will probably try to fit in an orifice that it don't belong in. She doesn't believe in getting even in the traditional manner - she will triple the cost and call it even.

True story, might help you out...
Guy buys a banjo (yeah, I know), and he's already got a house full of 'em. His wife had told him to cease and desist, but he found one he couldn't pass up. So, he stashes it under his bed for a few weeks, long enough to gather some dust on the case, then he takes the case out from under the bed and lays it open across a chair. Sure enough, his wife notices and asks him about the new banjo - he says, "New? Hell, it's just been under the bed". As far as I know, he got away with it.

Take that Linebaugh and string an electrical cord through the cylinder and out the barrel. Put a light socket and lamp shade on one end and a plug in on the other. Find something hideous to use for a base. Now you are ready.
Take that thing home and tell your wife that you have a new bedside reading lamp for her and present her with the concoction.
She will say "get that ugly lamp out of here" You say "you don't want it? What am I to do with it" and hopefully she will say. "do what ever you want to just get it out of my sight."
You now have it made. (unless she told you where you could take it, and shove it.

I could help hide it for you for a while. Maybe even help return it looking more used and less likely to draw attention--at lest that way maybe should would believe what you tell her it cost ya.
Only thing I have nightmares about, is when I am gone, my wife will go and sell all my guns for what I told her I paid for them.

Just get them involved first with what you are doing then make sure they have a couple of there own. Then always buy news for you both to share. I have been Happily married 32 years with out one complaint and I have never had to worry about bank accounts or false invocies.

Or do like me, and find one that's born and raised Alaskan, with a father who is a registered big game guide. She's even been on a couple sheep hunts in her teen years in covetted draw only area's.
That said, not sure she'll put up with me for 32 years--thats a long time to have to deal with the likes of me.

Sure enough, his wife notices and asks him about the new banjo - he says, "New? Hell, it's just been under the bed". As far as I know, he got away with it. I used to work for an attorney in Beaverton, Oregon who loved to hunt. It was a great gig as I always ended up hunting with the partners... and they liked having me around because I had an FFL back then. Well, this guy wants a new 270 Weatherby so I order it for him along with a special order Leupold scope and some ammo. I get it in, we do the paperwork and then go to the gun club and sight in the rifle with the new scope. He then packs it up and puts it into my car. I asked, "aren't you going to take your new rifle home?" He says, "are you kidding? The General would skin me alive. You have to keep this in your safe until we go hunting." So we did go hunting a few weeks later. He got a great mule deer and I got one, too. Then he takes the rifle home from the hunt and just puts it in his safe. No problem. When your wife asks you about the gun, you just say... "this old thing? I've had it for ages." LOL.
