Hippo with a pistol is probably the top in handgun megafauna hunting, especially in a species with populations big enough to do so under the umbrella of funding conservation. My vote is to do it while it's available, regardless of European events. 

A hippo European mount is the ultimate desk adornment. 

I wish Colombia was open to hippo hunting. That would be the optimal scenario. 

Why would Columbia be a good idea for hippo? Only ones there I know of were there on the drug lords property.
