Those are absolutely beautiful, Zane's work is second to none, and he's a nice fellow too.

Great set of grips for what may be the most logical caliber in that great lil gun. The only way it could look better, IMHO, is with a 30 degree Patridge front blade and Bowen's chamfer on the cylinder, but I'd take it just like it is.

Gunsbam why hasn't anyone ever put up a pic of a chamfered FA gun? My goodness how things are overlooked.

I dunno, but they're out there. I've wanted to do one myself, but I never have gotten along with the grip frame on the 97 so passed the ones I had on. A friend had the same issue as me and asked me to move his 5.5 octagon 97 .45 Colt/ACP convertible. Another friend bought it and loves it. The first thing he did was have it cut down to ejector length by FA then sent the cylinders to Bowen for chamfer. Then Rob put some horn on it very similar to this one of reconciler's it was Dall also. I wish the 97 fit me like the 83. They're great lil guns. Look at the fit of the loading gate in the 2nd pic. They're just amazing lil rigs.

I’ve got a Bowen chamfered Model 97 but only have pictures with the non-fluted 327 cylinder. I’ll remedy this situation as soon as I get a good overcast day for pictures. It also has a 2 piece Colt like grip frame, an great improvement over stock in my mind.
Reconciler, another beauty! I’ve enjoyed previous Bowen guns I’ve gotten from you and enjoyed meeting you down at Blast & Past.

Yes, I like that one of yours also. Sharp gun. I've been told by a friend who's been at it awhile that frame fix is it. I've also been told that just getting a different set of grips on the factory frame can make a big difference.

Thank you for all of the nice comments!! I know for some the grip frame on these 97's isn't quite right, however for me it is perfect!! With the addition of Zane's grips this revolver really is the "Last Word", for me at least. I took it to the range today and the accuracy is astounding!!!! Tim, I still kick myself for selling that Bowen .44 Special. That was a great time wandering through that gun shop, there needs to be more of those kinds of shops around. Two 5 shot groups at 25 yards rested. Xtreme Bullets 240grain RNFP with some Power Pistol.
