When I first went to this post,, I stopped.
I wanted to read the whole thing all at once,, for I knew it would be the kind of story that would keep me awake,, wondering,, "What next?"
It was well worth the wait.
I, like many others here dream of sheep hunting,, yet, are unable to do it for various reasons. So,, we read stories,, imagine ourselves there,, with a bit of envy & a lot of awe.
I recall a picture,, long ago,, when I was a young teenager,, in Outdoor life,, of an artist drawing of a bowhunter drawing on a ram. That image has stuck with me my whole life. First wanting to bowhunt one,, then,, as I became a handgun hunter,, wanting to get one with a handgun. It'll likely never happen,, but all these years,, I enjoy the stories of others who have managed to hunt the elusive rams,, deep in the Alaska wilderness.
So, with that,, first off you have my most humble yet HEARTY congratulations on such a fine & memorable hunt. And I'll also say,, while I'm also a bit envious,, I say you have done what I wished I could have done. A handgun ram!

What's next ? Hmmnnn.. lol. Next, that emergency space blanket in the bottom of Synd's pack, is really a super hero's cape. Next, Synd will kill a 72" moose with a Leatherman tool. Truly, will be interested in where he turns his attentions next. A long life and more adventure please.

Couldnt happen to a more deserving hunter.
If you find yourself down Kenai way once more we would love to have you & your bride over for coffee again. We are no longer in the same house but the same area.

If you find yourself down Kenai way once more we would love to have you & your bride over for coffee again. We are no longer in the same house but the same area. Thanks Vance and others it was quite a hunt for sure. Here's a pic of the mount. We have haven't been on the Peninsula for a couple years. If we make it down this year with the camper trailer we'll give you a shout.  |
