Great story Snyd, and a fitting end to a life spent chasing a goal. I’m sure sheep will always be in your memories, and this hunt in particular. That final sneaky stalk into shooting range is and has always been my favorite part of any hunt provided a shot is taken, if not it’s an excellent learning experience. Well done.

Awesome, Awesome hunt & write up Snyd!! Love it! One of my biggest regrets is that I never sheep hunted when I was younger, always planned to but kept putting it off. Filmed lots of them in the Salmon River country & a few in the Selway but never put in for a tag, now at 77 I look at your ram & I salute you. Great job!

Snyd, all I can say is thank you for taking us along on hunts most of us only dream about! Awesome job and your decision to decide when that journey is complete is a great example of wisdom and thankfulness we all can learn from. Well done my friend!

Thank you for taking us along for the hunt. You have always been generous with your hunts over the years and several of us have followed along by way of those written accounts. Judging from the pictures, You are good at describing it so we get an accurate understanding of the experience. Nice going.

I have always admired the bighorn ram and the country they are hunted in. Even as a small boy I thought them so majestic. I’ll turn 57 next month so the time for me to try that is passed. I am extremely grateful I can still hunt deer, pigs, ducks, turkey, quail and varmints. The hunting life, for me has been a blessed life and has kept me sane at times. Thank you for the wonderful story. It is truly one of the best hunting stories I have ever read and I love how you made your peace with it in the end. All the best to you sir. David

Wow ! Kinda glad I was away in the hills for a few days and just got to read thru this all in one shot. Thank You Synd, and congrats ! The tent issue made me smile with memories. At 11,500 on Rainier I saw an expedition grade Jansen tent of the Whittakers Guide service get blown up slope, up the glacier and drop outta sight in a crevasse. Lesson learned. The opportunity for crevasse rescue was taken on the spot. At the end of the week, the guides wanted to buy my Eureka, best 4 season version they made. We had bonded thru some storms and I took my tent home. I gave it to a younger friend last summer. I never made it to Alaska, but now I feel like I have been there. Up in the thinner air, up in the clouds, where storms are born. Again, thank you Synd.
