Very local to me there is a huge Mesquite supplier. Large boards and slabs sold by the finished piece. Big pieces! But there is a goodly amount of small scrap to dig thru, and I have. Problem is 99% of the wood as far as grip material goes is as boring as an adobe brick. Remarkable pieces like this are few and far between. Well done.

Well done. yeah, figured mesquite and mesquite burl can be pretty hard to find. and then when you do find it there is often a ton of waste from cracks and voids. i've had to toss some truly exhibition grade blanks because of cracks. hurts lol.
