My only Clements, she was finished over the winter, she's a 401 powermag built on a 357 frame with SBH grip frame and hammer. Bowen Target rear sight and David made me the front sight from a pic I stole from one of you fine fellows on here. I asked for grips that weren't dark walnut! His neighbor came up with these. Been working on forming brass and getting her loaded for, if my luck holds the way it has, she'll be unfired when time comes to sell! LOL!

I have a Super Blackhawk Hunter That I Liked a lot, but it was a bit rough. I wanted a much better trigger and other refinements for it. After contacting several smiths about the work I wanted I decided to send it to David. He seemed enthusiastic for what I had in mind and offered suggestions for adding a couple things, and also to not do some things I thought I wanted. What I ended up with is not a full on custom, but rather a refined and smoother greatly improved SBH Hunter. Most of the work done is not visible, but it immediately apparent when handling and firing the revolver. At the time David said he had wanted to do a package for the SBH Hunters, but never got around to offering it. The grip frame was later modified by Jack Huntington who also made the grips.

My sixgun journey is enriched by the two guns I have that David built. I hate to see him retire, but there are so many guns of his to enjoy. I bought both of mine a couple years ago but never had opportunity to have David build one just for me. I love these two. I judge all others on them. He does excellent work all around. I'm proud to have them. Both 45 colt. 6 shot. The Blackhawk is my favorite gun I've ever owned. I've shot both over 2000 rounds each and plan for many more. The vaquero has dovetail front sight. David said he built a group of the same package gun about 20 years ago. I love the nimrod type barrel band on the Blackhawk. Scott Kolar did the mesquite vaquero grips. The Blackhawk has Scott Kolar DIY walnut kit grips that I finished out. I hope many others enjoy their Clements guns as I do. They are no nonsense, ready to work guns.

Who made the grips on that beauty ? gunsbam69, I received the manzanita burl wood from Brian Neely "Keno Slim" of Klamath River Woodworks in Oregon (who regrettably, has passed on) and Mr. Clements sent the wood and grip frame out to whoever he used at the time to whittle and carve the grips.
