I've always liked the old shotguns ( though the doubles are more my speed )... FIL had a full '42 collection... hmmm... maybe, now that I think about it, maybe they were 48's???
anyway sold them off, the long barrel shotguns just take up so much space to display on the gun room walls, & when you run the whole gauge range in your collecting...

I took a better pic of the 42 with the original Gibson call. It's a blast to shoot.

Am I wrong in thinking the call could sell for more than the gun?

I’m guessing 800-1000 on the Gibson call

I’m guessing 800-1000 on the Gibson call Yep. I wish it had the box. That instantly adds 2K. The original leather case adds another 2K.

Am I wrong in thinking the call could sell for more than the gun? If it had the box add 2K. With an original leather case add another 2K Right now the calls are bringing between 800 and 2000 depending on condition. This one doesn't have the box or the leather case. Most of them were sold without the leather. There is one for sale right now with the box for $9,000.00. I think it is a bit high but the way people are grabbing vintage stuff now it might bring it. The pre-Simmons Hardware Arkansas calls (Gibson and Bodie) bring as mush as $25,000.00 The most I have seen a Simmons Hardware go for was $23,000.00. My call was hunted with. It is fragile but it is going hunting at least a few times with one of my old guns. I love hunting with vintage stuff.
