Does anybody else study these guns when they pop up looking for ideas for new customs? Not saying I'm having tabs welded on my loading gates just yet, but a channeled grip frame could look good and I recognize this grip frame shape as a skinny Wells No 9 with the frontstrap kicked forward somewhat. www.gunbroker.com/item/922342820

I'm not artistic or creative enough to get any inspiration from that particular gun. I do watch the custom revolvers that pop up for ideas though. Hamilton redoing top straps into M&P style top straps was the inspiration for asking Alan about redoing the top strap of the 414 to mimic the Freedom Arms top strap for example.

I do. I think that is pretty cool. I had John Powers build me a Croft M2 inspired Ruger vaquero last year. I like the old King ribbed colts. I work part time at a gun shop that opened in 1947. They have huge collection of old European made revolvers that are fun to ponder. My favorite revolver to handle up there is Merwin and hulbert 44 with the skull crusher handle. The old guns are great.

I have a lot of pictures of revolvers saved on my phone for inspiration. That one will not be going into the archives. It looks like I made it, and that's not a compliment. 😁
But seriously, I get tons of ideas from members on this site and elsewhere. I'm not sure I'm creative enough to come up with a new idea, but I certainly know what I do and do not like.

Barrel profile similar to a Smith & Wesson perfected third model target pistol
