Maybe not polished but on the hoof, lol. The only single action grips I’ve handled are wood and a set of elk by Sack Peterson. Ok, I left out antler, but they have the same tacky feel once polished smooth.

I've got a dumb question, but won’t know till I ask. On these types of grips are they slick in the hand or are they possibly like a set of satin wood grips? I’ve got medium to large hands and slick feeling grips haven’t seemed to do well. exactly what Kim and Mike said. tacky/grippy. I think most of the horn Bisley grips I've made have gone on 44mag's up to 500 Linebaugh's and so far I've not had anyone tell me they had control issues.
