Although I have been a member here for almost 3 years, I realized I have never formally introduced myself. I feel that people here like to get ti know each other on a somewhat personal level, so here goes. I'm 46 years old, and have been an installation tech for a family owned business ( started in 1955, and expanded into 8 fully functioning shops throughout MO and IL ) in the HVAC industry for 23 years, yup half my life. I specialize in high end custom new home, and renovation construction, our company has been the #1 Water Furnace dealer in the nation since 1989. For those of you who don't know, that's geothermal, which is 200 x more efficient than a 90+ gas furnace, my duties include the complete rough in, to finish of the hvac systems, all gas piping, custom kitchen exhaust hoods, installation of all types of fireplaces, wood, and gas, outdoor firepits, grills, dryer vents, including all electrical work, which I am also a certified electrician. When I say high end, typically homes over a million dollars, my biggest job, probably in my life, was an 110 year old home that started at 8000 sq foot, then had 3 large additions put in giving it a total of 16'500 sq foot, it received 35 ton of geothermal, that was done as split systems, that had gas furnaces for backup, 6 systems in all, spread throughout the home, with zoning on 4 of them, a 1500 cfm custom kitchen hood that is 9 ft wide, with roof mounted fan , 3 fireplaces inside, and1 outside, 23 copper roof dormers for attic ventilation, and 3 and a half million btu of boilers, for all the outside hard surfaces, spread throughout the 3 acre property, no snow or ice to remove at any time, that's right, just to heat the outside, I ran 300 ft of 2" black iron piping in the home on a 2# high pressure gas meter, this job took 2 years to complete, and now I'm back installing a smoke ventilation system on the 3rd floor, so they can smoke cigars during their business meetings, this house is insane. My hobbies, passions are indian artifact hunting, and collecting, playing with my 3 dogs, and of course single action revolvers, and reloading, most recently I have gotten into making grip panels for these fine guns, I pay special attention to detail in everything I do. We have a saying at our shop, flex duct is for homeowners, or people who don't know what they're doing, it's garbage, and a total ripoff to the customer. At work we have a fully functional sheet metal shop, and we make everything. The reason I'm making the grip panels is I just love to see the changing of the woods as they are shaped into something beautiful, and functional, I would like to offer these for sale at very reasonable prices, not ready to turn this into a full time business, hvac is my bread and butter, but maybe when I get closer to retirement, I will get some pictures posted of my personal grips I've made on my guns so you all can see where I'm at with this, feel free to comment, thanks for reading. Oh, most importantlyI am marriedto the loveof my life Kelly
