I don't want to sidetrack Simple45's Thread, but...
Think several powders will push a 250+/- grn bullets to 1050 fps loaded to 45 ACP Pressures.

With the long nosed bullets, powder capacity is similar to the 45 Colt with cylinder length restrictions.
The 45 Schofield, like many oldies, can be loaded to more modern ballistics.
The Ruger Midframe Flattops easily handle 45 ACP +P Loads. I believe the 45 Schofield loaded to those pressures would just about equal the Elmer Keith 44 Special Loads.

My om has ears that I thought about using. My only flat top is a mint 3 digit sn that's not going to be messed with. I was thinking dual cylinders too. Schofield and 460 Rowland. I wouldn't recommend a 460 Rowland on a Midframe, New or Old Model... 5-shot. It'll be fine according to Leonard Baity. I just had to call him this evening, and next thing ya know, there goes a few more grand. Thanks guys! A 40,000psi Schofield. Wow. This'll be unique.

Ive carried a blued om blackhawk for 40 years nearly everyday working cattle and horses. It shows its age, but you don't need stainless if you take care of it Any chance of you posting a photograph of that Blackhawk? A blued gun is a blank canvas and it would be something to see what 40 years of riding the range has painted on it.

I only changed to the biznana for consistency with my hunting guns and BFRs.

That Cimarron New sheriff with the 'old model from' is a 4 click hammer.
The pre-war frame are all the retracto-firing pin non 4 click
I have a 3 1/2" thunderer, 44 spl, 4 click old model frame, and it is nice, and a nice trigger too

bigbore5... Thanks for posting that photo. Interesting to see real pearl on a working firearm, always heard they were just too delicate. I know that Gene Autry carries pearl, but he's Gene Autry and I'm not.
