If the scope allows you to use the rings against the turret , is it best pushed up against or pushed back? This is the first scope that allowed it to be mounted either way. So far the scopes I had allowed only to be pushed up.

Just realized I had the answer in another thread! Thank you Mr Bradshaw! “Wipe mating surfaces with acetone, then paint ‘em with fingernail polish. Seals against weather, aids griffon scope. Ring screws and threaded holes in rings get same treatment. If the front of the turret conveniently butts against the font ring, it becomes a recoil shoulder.
