I have never owned a FA in any caliber and truth be told I have only handled one in a gun store many moons ago. Obviously my battery is lacking. I don’t need it but what has that got to do with it, right? I am looking at a 7.5” field grade with a 2x Leupold scope and Magnaported. Would $2000 be a reasonable price for one in good condition?

They're easier to shoot in 44 or 41 Magnum. Easier usually equals more enjoyment of a fine sporting arm.

You can download the 454 to 44 magnum standards. Im shooting a 310 cast, powder coated and gas checked bullet at 1350 and I can handle it one handed. The grip on the FA's is just right and it makes the big boomers quite manageable.
GET IT!!!

Reasonable. Not a steal, but in todays market and also consider the cost of a new FG with those options.
