Hasn’t been a recent “double action” thread, so I thought I’d post this. Working to develop some loads that hit POA with several 357 and 41 snubs. All hit high with magnum loads. Don’t currently use these much. The 357 is a bad weather, drop in the rain jacket pocket gun. The 41s were purchased to replace my Kahr auto pocket guns on the off chance “autos” are banned. . Found some “close enough” loads for all. Wanted a load that hit close to POA with moderate recoil to use as a warning shot but with enough power to deter a coyote or cougar encounter while walking my dog. These loads are backed up by 180gr Buf Bore in the 357 and 250gr Grizzly in the 41s (3 plus 2) in the unlikely event of a large animal chance encounter (absolute last ditch app). . Loads: 357 Mag: (125gr JHP over 7.0gr BE-86 in Magnum cases) – chronos 906 fps from the S&W 360. The green laser on the 360 was adjusted to hit POA at 25 yds with this load . . 41 mags . The guns: .Charter Ams Pug .Taurus Titanium Trcker . The Load – 135gr Cutting Edge over 10.0gr CFE Pistol (1,220 fps - Taurus) . . The “good enough” target . . Some other random loads with the 41s . . All the loads are pleasant to shoot in the small, lightweight revolvers and steel plates to 40 yds doable. Paul

Nice revolvers - ALL!
My personal favorite has always bee the stainless Charter Undercover.
If 3" barrels count - Charter stainless 44 Special.
I have no experience with any of the classier models shown, but they are very appealing.
I currently have a fairly recently manufactured Taurus 85, with which I am not terribly impressed, but it works. It really lacks the refinement, finesse and class of the Taurus revolvers I used to buy in the late eighties/early nineties, but,..... it's a "pocket gun" and doesn't need to be pretty, I guess.
That 41 Mag Taurus looks more like the ones I used to have - much nicer than my little 85.
Of course, I am partial to Charter revolvers, so that 41 Mag is especially pretty to me.

My favorites are my wife's old stainless Taurus CH85 38 special and my Charter Arms Bulldog Pug 44 special.

I love the big bore snubs. That .41 Mag Pug must have some some bite on both ends…..Here are my two .44’s.

SO WHAT QUALIFIES AS A SNUB? UNDER 4 INCHES? 3 INCHES AND UNDER? NOT MORE THAN 2 INCHES? OR WHAT?

Pretty sure I asked a similar question some time back. I don't recall the consensus. I do consider my 3" Bulldog a "snubby". The 4" M69, nope. The Alaskans yes.

One of my favorites, a Redhawk worked over by Jack Huntington... The Pachmayer gripper makes it comfortable to shoot and easy to conceal. It is shocking how well this thing conceals even in a pair of shorts with a T shirt. It is very comfortable in spite of the weight. I even carry it regularly when bicycling, typically 20 miles at a time on or off road). A local gun shop manager made this holster for it, and it carries really well. With the original grips on it that slam my thumb like a ball peen hammer...

Here are a couple of snubs I love to play with... My 50GI Encore. My Dan Wesson 744 (2.5")and 7445 (4",cause they didn't make a 2.5" or 3") And yes, I like red and black laminate grips. I also have a S&W 3" 41mag and 44mag, same from Taurus. (Sorry don't have pics of them handy)

My Taurus 415 .41 Magnum is my 'pooping-in-the-woods-OMG-is-that-a-bear?!' gun. The uh, 'subtly decorated' grips are big, but really help tame the recoil.
