Academy sports put the Rossi combo on special: 22 LR single shot and 20 gauge shotgun barrel, $119. My wife and I talked about it, as I was looking for a single shot shotgun for a project, and she got it for me for my birthday. Its rough, its ugly and the sights are plastic... and I am having a ball with it. I love a good single shot 22. The chamber is drilled off center, making the barrel unnecessarily chunky, and the sights are plastic with the day-glo strip in em. The stock is hollow plastic. Everybody needs one of these. I'm filling the hollow stock with ammo, space blanket, first aid kit, can opener, pocket knife and sharpener and a pull through cleaning kit. The forend will hold more ammo and a mini tool, some fishing gear, a splinter kit, and a compass. All I need is a decoder ring and I'm ready for business!

Been looking at getting one for my wife for deer hunting because she didnt like the Beretta I got her " to complicated and heavy" Also shes cheap and the spec weight on the gun is 3- 4lbs. Set her up with some rifle sights and she will be good to go.

I bought my 11 year old a .22/.410 for Christmas last year. It is a youth version with wood stock. I have been amazed by the accuracy with the .22 barrel. Not a bad trigger either. Those sights are bad, but I put a cheap AR15 type scope on it and it is a blast to shoot. He hunts squirrels with the .410 barrel and tin cans with the .22!

The sights on mine are the exact same plastic light pipes H&R uses on their single shots. Its a shame the barrels aren't interchangeable ala TC... they make a 7.62x39 barrel. On the other hand, the priest had a single shot rossi that wasn't a grouper. I like it. Looking for a cheap pin on compass...

Ya know, every time I think "I'm done with Taurus" they come up with something that makes me sad I won't have one.Thankfully the gun fund is way low... or I'd be thinking of getting a Judge Advocate. I'm a chump for the snubbies...
