Just got a call from a local gunshop that bought out an estate. 6- 200 round cans M-13 LINKED Lake City 308! 225.00 a can.
I have owned my 240 Bravo for 8 years and not been able to shoot it more than 10 rounds cause I cant find the blankety-blank links!
I AM going hog hunting this weekend if it handicaps every cannibal in the Congo!
What did Duke say in Predator? "IM GONNA HAVE ME SOME FUN!!!".

I'm sure I have a whole 30 caliber ammo can full of links somewhere... ( FIL had bought a couple cans of linked 7.62 LC )
I have a pair of bandoleros linked ala Mexically style of unfired 7.62 blanks, that were originally set up for a halloween costume ( better check that one, they may be 5.56 blanks... but 99% sure they are 7.62 )
been trying to figure out what to do with all the links... if you're interested in making an offer, I'll try to find the ammo can full & take a picture or 3...

MRS has a meeting tonight ( means I have time to play in the gun room... I'll see if I can round up the can of links... at this point, I have no idea what the links, or the bandoleros of unfired blanks are worth... so I'll have to rely on your expertise... Gun Parts Corp has unissued links for $12.50 per 100 www.gunpartscorp.com/products/143460I can probably do better than that

Now we’re talking!
I was a M240B gunner in Afghanistan and patrolled with a 249. I can’t even count how many cans of 7.62 linked I humped as the Platoon Sergeant for a weapons platoon. The M240B is, in this grunt’s opinion , the current greatest battlefield implement ever devised.
Have you seen the spooky level of accuracy the tankers can get from the COAX gun?

I actually got to try one of the first 240s our unit got with a 6x ACOG on it. I went into heat every time I fired it! The SAW is great and I dont want to carry the 240 on a patrol (I did carry an M-14 once. ONCE.) but the 240 wins in my humble uneducated idiotic sadistic mind when you have a vehicle to carry it. I am currently waiting on the delivery of my Ohio Ordinance HCAR because I could not find links for the 240. I was OIF-1. Landed at Port Doha (sp?) Kuwait under SCUD fire, helped establish Camp Udari (we called it "Youdirty"), was there when the chow hall burned. Pushed North into Kirkuk, then northwest to Baghdad. I know why those people have been fighting for generations; if I lived in that sand all the time I would be looking to fight someone as well! www.oowinc.com/exclusives/semi-auto/h-c-a-r-package-2/I am actually getting one of the first "enhanced accuracy" package rifles with 20 inch match barrel. They are even doing a custom tan finish job on it to commemorate my time in the 101st. Of course I ordered it October of last year and havent gotten it yet.

X101, I have a question for you. Just a little googling, the 240 effective range is 1800meters. The M60 is 1200 meters. Why are they different if its the same cartridge? Is it the sights?

I have a 249. Have considered building a Bravo but ammo and such have stopped me in thinking phase. I find the 249 to be an awesome rifle!

While I’m not well-versed of the M60, I’d guess it’s sight radius or something related. The M2HB has a max effective of 1830, despite being a much larger cartridge. The reason? That’s about the max distance the human eye can accurately engage targets. Magnification, stable shooting platforms, etc can all increase that distance. Another guess is that the M60 has barrel-mounted bipods and the M240 is receiver-mounted

Not finding my can of links right now ( may be put with my gun show stuff, some of which I’ve not seen for a couple years since the last 2 were canceled due to COVID )... I’ll keep them in the back of my mind, next show for me is supposed to be in July
I did take a picture of my 2 bandaleros, doubled for the loops, they are each 38” long, and full of unfired LC-79 7.62 blanks
Will add the pictures tomorrow if you are interested
Or can text you them, if you want to pm me your #

My opinion only is the 240 runs a much shorter barrel (as I remember) and does not generate the muzzle velocity the longer barreled 60's do.

I too have a batch of links that I saved many years ago from when we shot a M60. If needed,, I can get them out.
