Nothing about it would indicate that it's a Bowen to me. Probably the most damning bit of evidence is no 3rd screw on left hand side.

Looks like a journeyman's Nimrod, and an old build based on the 50 Magnum.
Possible I guess, one of Bowen's earliest builds, but only he could confirm.
Doesn't exhibit typical Bowen attention to detail.

Wonder if it could actually be a Huntington gun?
Probably not,,,looked at my 500 magnum and it is marked.

Base gun was manufactured in 1990. Earliest picture of a 5 shot Bowen I have is from 1987, It has the bolt block screw. Every Bowen 5 shot I've seen also does. Also lettering on left side of the frame was never used by Bowen. If someone buys this thinking they are getting a Bowen they'll be very disappointed.

It has a Bowen rear sight I believe, so Bowen is in there somewhere and that’s all the seller needs.

I almost bid earlier today not thinking it was really a Bowen. I almost started this same thread too. This finish is odd, is it really thin bluing well worn? Looks well used, but the grip frame doesn't, which is kind of backwards. Unless the grip frame was re-blued. Sort of reminded me of a blackened stainless gun, but I don't think it is. How much is a mystery gun worth? Mmm... dunno. If I could get a peek at the guts with the grip frame off however....

Curtis and I were discussing this one Wednesday. Grip frame to main frame fit is poor. My early Bowen was marked 500 Magnum, not 50 Magnum. I'm in the "it ain't what he's claiming" camp.

Tim I wonder if its even a .500 linebaugh. I had a Clements gun that was a shortened .500 S&W like a JRH that may have been marked 50 magnum. Can’t remember for sure. Here's the gun: www.rugerforum.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=175844NOT saying this is a Clements gun. I cannot believe I sold the revolver for that price...Brian got several steals during that time...

Large cylinder or small? I keep changing my mind.
Looks like a Reeder kind of finish, but lacking you know what. lol
I'd like to see the "Ruger" mark a little better. It sort of reminds me of the Phillips and Rodgers I had... the engraving that it, though on mine they removed all the Ruger markings and added their own name.
