Mr Taffin, that's some impressive accuracy for certain. Is your sample gun 6" or 8"? I'd prefer a 4" myself, but since that isn't currently offered, I'm seriously considering going with the 6" version for now.

6" I think they are the first ones out.

Have absolutely no need for one. Got those bases well covered... Will probably get one anyway! ;-)
Would love to handle one in person. Wonder if a person could lighten the trigger pull to about 3 pounds single action.

Jack has had some of the New Python guns through the shop for among other things trigger work.
He's definitely made improvements on otherwise stock triggers.
I'd expect the internals of this new gun to be the same as the New Python.

I'd take one in .41 mag if they ever make it.

With groups like those in Mr. Taffin’s test (thank you) I would guess the large cylinder throat issue has been addressed.

I know the Ruger Redhawk .44s are considered by many as among the strongest and the Smith & Wesson 629 .44s among the weakest, where do the Colt Anacondas fall on the scale?

Found an old post from 2011 ranking the Anaconda in between. I'm sure it will handle everything I shoot through it fine.

Found an old post from 2011 ranking the Anaconda in between. I'm sure it will handle everything I shoot through it fine. Curious who posted this and what reference was used? The Anaconda is surely a beefy gun. But, I hesitate to post certain "Facts" with factory backing. Certain things have been validated and have become fact. For example, 45 Colt at 30k psi is safe in the Full Size Blackhawk, FA97, etc... As you say, I never push the Magnums. They were designed to operate at significant pressures right out of the gate. There have been tests to deliberately destroy revolvers. Would make for some very interesting reading. But, things have changed dramatically in the world since P.O. Ackley did the same with rifles. If tests showed it took 100k psi to destroy Revover X, somebody would extrapolate that 90k psi in theirs was safe.

Encore: I just found and replied to post title 45 colt anaconda (so up to top). It was in it.
You're probably right about some people pushing limits.

Thanks. I've always had the exact same question you ask. But, no definitive information available.
I do remember guys shooting some insane loads in their Anaconda 45 Colts. Never heard of one giving up the ghost. But, was hoping you'd found some data.

Bought it for the barrel.
