I know a few things about these 😅😂🤣 It starts as an seemingly innocent and harmless interest. Then at some time you find yourself paper patching miniature cast bullets... I've been told that it's ok to ask for help, that the first step is admitting that I have a problem. Naaaaah...

That Bowen Bee would be a steal at that starting price. I should have known better than to bring it up here....

I don't have either in a revolver. But I would go with the hornet or a variant of that case because brass is more readily available than bee brass these days.
I do have plans on building a 17 squirrel on a blackhawk one of these days

I have a custom Ruger chambered in the 218 Mashburn Bee and it is super accurate. I shoot either a 34 grain at 2430 fps. or a 40 grain Sierra at 2100 fps. No recoil to speak of and you can see bullet impact through the scope.

THE KAY CHUK IS A 22 K-HORNET WITH A SLIGHTLY SHORTER NECK TO WORK IN 22lr S&W K FRAME CYLINDERS. I HAVE A 22 JET WITH A 22lr AUXILARY CYLINDER REAMED OUT TO K-HORNET. THE JET CYLINDERS ARE SLIGHTLY LONGER THAN STANDARD K FRAME 22lr CYLINDERS. 22 HORNET FACTORY AMMO, BECAUSE OF THE TOO LONG BULLETS, IS USUALLY JUST A TAD LONG TO FIT IN A JET LENGTH CYLINDER.

I've had 3 Hornets, an Italian repro of a Baby Remington Rolling Block, a Contender 10" pistol and a Ruger#3. Had case seperation problems with the Remington repro and the Contender, none with the Ruger.
I would build the K hornet, or 218 Mashburn Bee.

I have a David C K Hornet on a sbh which is in semi retirement due to lil gun during its active life the the biggest problem was brass neck related, one of its stable mates is a M77 from the same reamer the sbh was reamed with. it had the same extra time required to baby the brass. I have two plain hornets one a # 3 which one of my kids is babysitting, the other is a # 1 which is now wearing a 10 twist barrel in 218 Mashburn Bee. The only M Bee brass fails are related to testing looking for problems. I have more than a dozen cases which have 18 firing with no sign of failure. The pressure signs have showed up in the last rounds of 73 grn ELD which is really outside the twist rate. You can see the impression of the anvil on a couple of rounds under 20x magnification. I do not have any firearm in standard 218 Bee, but David C has another sbh he is doing in 218 mbee. With Hornady brass made now and then it gives some hope for a source. I will not use any of the rifle rounds in the sbh as so far they have mostly been with Lil Gun. If its a choice between the two rounds I would go with a bee. The only negatives I have heard about the mbee is the short neck. Have a nice day Don K

That Bowen Bee would be a steal at that starting price. Maybe my brain is just running extra slow tonight, but what makes the starting price such a good deal?

Maybe my brain is just running extra slow tonight, but what makes the starting price such a good deal? Go and price 3-screw guns, then price the cost of the Bowen conversion, add those prices and compare to the starting price. In addition to that, it's available now.
