Which would be your choice in a single action and why?
Anybody actually own one of either?
John?

Both work fine. The Hornet will occasionally set back, the Bee never has for me.
The K-Hornet is probably the best of both worlds and brass is far easier to get...

I would go K Hornet myself, if building a custom single action... ( plus I have a new reamer )

Am i correct in thinking the hornet has to go in a large frame gun?

+1 on the K-Hornet... I've been contemplating the shorter 22 Long Snapper on a Single-Six Bisley for a while now myself.

I have a rifle in K-Hornet. It is a rechambered Serbian Mauser Mini that started off as a 22 Hornet. It is a good round and is a marked improvement over the standard Hornet. Case stretch is much less in the K-Hornet. Case life is effectively doubled from 4 to 5 loadings to some have had over 10 full loads and have yet to need more than a slight trim. That is in my RIFLE, not a handgun.

yes... Hornet in a large framed gun... my 8 shot Raging Hornet custom, was a factory 22 Hornet with a 8 shot cylinder in a Taurus "Raging" action
as I've already answered... just to muddy the water... is there an improved shoulder Bee??? & is that a 357 magnum parent case??? or is that 25-20 or something else???

Have a 22-KayChuck, which is a slightly shortened K-Hornet, in a S&W K-frame that is a dream to shoot... Very loud... Also have Taurus Raging Hornet and Bee that are accurate and found a 6" Tracker, they made for a year, in 218 Bee. Have yet to shoot. No case set back with the Taurus revolvers...

In overall length, a Bee is shorter than a Hornet and nowhere near as tapered and should fit in a standard frame double action. And there was an Ackley version in both 22 and 17 caliber (I have a Contender barrel in 17 Ackley Bee from the factory). Remember, S&W sold the Model 53 in 22 Jet which is just the 357 case reformed. They really messed up using the long tapered case design instead of something like a K-Hornet. Would have worked much better.

The Bee on a single six is a hoot and a half.
If someone was wanting Hornet I would have them consider the K
The small bore wheelguns are fun.
256 and 25-20 are really cool too.

Both work fine in a revolver. The Bee is faster than a straight Hornet. The K-Hornet makes up the difference. I built a .218 Bee around 15 years ago. Nice shooting revolver and case setback hasn't been a problem. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

That Bowen Bee would be a steal at that starting price.
