I saw on a Brownells YouTube video last night that Standard Mfg has reproduced the 2nd series Colt Woodsman. Looked really nice & received a very favorable review from Keith Ford of Brownells.

Well all anyone can add is opinions at this point Greg. I'd love to wrong about that. Their SA's haven't clicked me but a 22 hand assembled and polished? Hmmmm, what custom can I sell?

Since we're pipe dreaming.....
Call and get one in the white with no grips. There's your canvas.

It’s too bad Standard Manufacturing supposedly has really bad/atrocious customer service. I have a buddy who worked at their store and there are some stories... eeeek. Also, youtube’s InRange TV has some extremely unkind reviews about them: youtu.be/W00GADSueG4I would NOT buy anything from them if I had a choice.

It's on their website listed as "coming soon" MSRP $899... Considerably less than I expected. There's also an engraved & CCH version available for an MSRP of $2,000. We'll see what they actually sell for once they start hitting the dealer shelves.

The blue has adjustable sights, the engraved are not. Personally a CCH semi auto of any flavor would never live here. SA receivers, lever action receivers all day. I saw a Winchester 61 (pump) which is my favorite rifle of all time with CCH and it hurt me to look at it.

I tend to agree, but a co-worker bought one of their CCH 1911's & brought it out to my place to shoot... I didn't hate it. However, mine would be Royal blue with nitre blued screws & controls...Same with the Woodsman.

That is a worthy item to bring back. There is an Original Colt Match target on the Cabela,s sight I keep looking at. I wonder if they are using the old Eliason rear sight. ?

Flawless customer service on my 45 Colt SA purchased factory direct about 6 or so months ago.

Anybody seen one in hand?
I'm a long time fan of the Woodsman, starting with the Pre-Woodsman pencil barrels. The Match Target guns are superb and shoot beautifully.
I even have a beauty that someone had chromed. I would trade it, but it makes tiny little cloverleafs.
I put the original Colt Woodsmans right up there with my Hi Standards and Smith 41's. I'm thinking I have to find out what Standard Manufacturing has done.
