Just got these pics from Alan Harton. Looking forward to getting it back in my hands next week. I'm assuming that anyone who can appreciate the change doesn't have to have it explained. ;D Just one green picture of Ben Franklin later... These pics don't show it, but (IIRC) the barrel on that gun is from zeus by way of kings6. It's seen a lot of country.

Looks a lot easier than the FA bisley job he did for some other guy! Alan must be getting good at taking those FA's apart and piecing them back together.

Looks like it should be in easier reach for the thumb. Any other changes being made?

Any other changes being made? The barrel is no longer 3" too long. It no longer has a replaceable forcing cone, and the set screw hole for said forcing cone has been welded shut.

Isnt Harton just a treat to deal with? A true gentleman, in my experience thus far. Apparently, I'm the only person who calls him from my area code, so he always knows it's me ringing him up. I am taking a trip to Houston for business in the next week, gonna try to stop in and shake the man's hand and see him eye to eye. I have been rolling like all h**l this weekend to try to get a "quick" project lined out to hand to him when I get there. You guys ever polished out "bad" engraving? Took me a whole movie (Heist, with G. Hackman) just to get this grip frame ready for 320 sandpaper. I hope I can work out the timing allright this weekend. I'll do what I can to make sure and stop in BCS and get a beer at the Chicken. Maybe I can be one of those old cool guys it was fun to play bones with back in the day.

Well, you just taught me something, John. I don't think I knew that there were any FG guns made with the replaceable forcing cones. I'm guessing that it's probably an early one. The changed hammer turned out nice!

That's a good barrel, take care of her She took my first deer with a handgun and I never had one walk away from that barrel. Its got good juju and shoots nice tight little groups. Glad its on another gun and not in a drawer gathering dust, she likes to hunt The hammer turned out nice. GS

Since zeus bumped it back up, I'll stick a full pic in here for posterity.\ And no comments about too much scope from the peanut gallery, please. Came with the gun.

No comments about the scope, here is the FA with the new barrel and the same scope but before I added the 4th ring in the open space at the rear....so no peanut gallery here

Zeus - How do you like your sling rig there? I was poking around for a shoulder holster for mine. If you get tired of wedging your thumb between your scope and your hammer, you know what you can do to it... PM me if you had pet loads for this barrel. My first up is some 300 grain XTP mags. BTW -using original FA brass. I had already made the cash price deal for the gun and the guy threw in 165 pieces of once fired and 135 pieces of factory primed.
