Wow, you resurrected an old, dormant thread! I wonder how many of us still have and carry the tools listed five years ago? I still have and love my HK P7. Speaking of those Baby Desert Eagles, I handled and sold several of them when I worked in a toy store. I was extremely impressed with their fit and finish and they definitely had the smoothest action of any DA pistol I've ever handled. Wish I'd bought one when I had the chance. It was the sweet trigger pull that sold me. After shooting my brother's, I went looking for one. We both have .40 SW, I buy bulk ammo and we split it up. I liked my IWI Baby Eagle so much I bought the Compact model too. Both of mine are in 40 S&W and both are the old models before they went to polymer frames. Although my carry is a Colt LW Commander.

Favorite as in most fun? Desert Eagle. The 357, 41, and 44, I can shoot all day without getting tired.
Flame away.
It's hard to beat a good old 1911 for every day practicality.

Charger which is now sitting in the safe. Tried some long range with it but my accurized 10/22 is more fun.
Going to put a threaded 6" bbl on it and a cut down slim pistol stock and put out money for a can.....

I'd have to say for the past 35 years the 1911 pattern pistol be it 3, 3.5, 4.25 or 5". I've got seven in the safe now with another 2 on the build list when I get time. Right now though I've got a hankering to play with a p35 too so everything is kinda subject to change if I fall in love but I think it might just be a mid-life crisis trist.

Kinda like carbon steel 5" with a bushing, 20 lpi front and rear checkering, hairline fitted grip safety with a tactical (small) extended single side safety, tall rear sight with tritrinium front by10-8, Heine str8 or Novaks, Kart or Barstow barrels and and Wilson internals and tool steel lock work all dressed in maganese parkerizing. I wouldn't mind matte hard chrome ion bond or cerra-kote as long as it is subtle and not hot pinko or zombie green. Fur dressing up nicely figured dark walnut or ebony but micarta is bullet proof.

My favorite #2 is back from Springer Precision. Had a new compensator fitted, just to be different. ![](http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc265/pbcaster45/Springer%209mm%20Plate%20Gun.jpg)

Favorite and most carried, Glock 23 Next two favorites Glock 27 for summertime carry, or when the situation calls for a easier to conceal.... Hands down my favorite and my every day carry is a Wilson Combat Tactical Elite in 45ACP with a few extras to include an engraved pin up girl.

Flash forward 5 years and this 56 year old desk jocky 1911 advocate has evolved into a 61 year old retired guy that works two or three 9.5 hour days each week as a Range Safety Officer and instructor. Standing on a concrete slab for a 9.5 hour day changes everything. While I still grab my 1911s to compete, the Star PD is now my primary carry gun. Accuracy, Power, Size, initial Cost, DANG! Can't believe this is the first one I've ever owned. It will not be the last PD at my house. Rob Leahy whipped up a nice holster and I am ready for those long days. Heck, I'm even looking at those IWB straps and thinking about some bigger pants! ![P-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/pirate.png) ![](http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z110/agb1368/Star%20PD/003_zpsa0a4b6b5.jpg) ![](http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z110/agb1368/Star%20PD/001_zpsa59c53da.jpg) that is super cool! I love it! now I have to find one!

I dont have many posts here, but I do have a favorite semi auto. A 1941 P35, somebodies WW II battle field take home. I bought it as a parts gun. Chrome plated, fake pearl grips. Had it worked over, new extractor, novak sights, hump ground out of the ramp, new hammer with no bite grind on it, trigger job, ported, built up safety. Never had a mag safety. Good shooter ![](http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g305/perterra/hipower.jpg)

Axe is the only person I know to speak positively - let alone highly of Star autos.
