Very interesting. Haven’t heard of that process before, but looks great. Reading the description, it looks like they’re looking into doing “Nitre blue-like” accents for screws and such as well. I’d be curious as to how it wears

I wonder how much “isn’t hideously expensive” really is. Here’s a good candidate. Tim

Honestly, I did matte black rustolium on a couple AK-47 receivers and it held up/looked better than duracoat

I had Hamilton send this old model 41 off to Robar for the Np3 coating when he built it years ago. The shop wasn't too excited about doing it out of fear of the potential thickness build-up for they said it went back together fine and it still looks like this years later. Too bad Robar went out of business, I love this finish.

That gun was my first attempt at a custom revolver. Unfortunately I had read an article about Magna-Port and their EDM ports and green front sights before I learned about Hamilton. In retrospect I should have had him rebarrel it but that was before I knew how easy such things were. That was my first set of Dall grips by Roy Fishpaw and the first old model bisley hammer by David. I gave my oldest son a choice between three custom revolvers when he came home from his first deployment to the Far East and he chose this one so it now lives in NM .

That guy took Krylon semi-flat black paint and touched up HK and AR rifles, and some others, all the time. Made them look like new. It matched perfectly with the factory finish. I used the same thing on a car window panel that had taken on some rust... sanded off the rust, taped off the area and sprayed it back to newness.

I bought my 97 with the full intention of having it coated black. Then when I got it, I wasn't sure I was keeping it. Then I started hearing about issues with the process I planned on going with and it never happened.
I have two spray painted pistols, both held up better than a couple of the spendy "bake on (expensive spray paints) coatings " I tried on a few things.
